Robertson, McTominay Lead Scotland’s Squad to 2026 FIFA World Cup
Scotland has officially announced its 26-player squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking the nation’s tenth appearance at the global tournament.
The Tartan Army will be hoping to make history by progressing beyond the group stage for the first time.Although Scotland qualified for the 1950 FIFA World Cup, the country did not participate after the Scottish Football Association declined the invitation, insisting it would only travel to Brazil as British champions.
Head coach Steve Clarke revealed the final squad earlier today. Andy Robertson will captain the side and remains the most experienced player in the squad with 92 international appearances. The Liverpool left-back is regarded as one of Scotland’s most influential players.
Other notable names in the squad include Scott McTominay of Napoli, John McGinn of Aston Villa, and Ché Adams of Torino.
The 2026 tournament marks Scotland’s first return to the FIFA World Cup since 1998.
