Pastor Babagbemi Joseph Adejola has called on Christians and Muslims to embrace love, prayer, and mutual understanding as both faiths observe the sacred seasons of Lent and Ramadan.

In a statement issued Wednesday in Abuja, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and aspirant for Yagba Federal Constituency described the overlapping observances as a unique moment for unity, reflection, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

He noted that the two religious seasons emphasize sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and devotion to God, stressing that such values should strengthen relationships across faith lines rather than fuel division.

“These sacred periods remind us of our shared humanity, our duty to God, and our responsibility to live in peace with one another,” he said.

Babagbemi emphasized the importance of tolerance, respect, and genuine brotherhood, adding that harmony between Christians and Muslims remains essential for societal stability and national progress in Nigeria.

He urged adherents of both religions to use the season to pray for peace, justice, and development in their communities and the country at large, while encouraging acts of kindness and support for the less privileged.

The APC aspirant also called on religious leaders, community stakeholders, and young people to promote dialogue, unity, and peaceful engagement, particularly at a time he described as critical for national cohesion.

He wished Christians a spiritually rewarding Lenten season and Muslims a peaceful Ramadan.
