Terrorists Attack Kebbi Girls’ Secondary School, Abduct Students, Kill Staff Member
Terrorists in the early hours of Monday attacked the Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
During the attack, the gunmen abducted an unspecified number of female students and killed a staff member.
The assailants reportedly stormed the school at about 5:52 a.m., shooting sporadically as students prepared for their daily routine.
According to security sources, the attackers shot and killed a school staff member during the raid, while a guard who was injured is currently receiving treatment.
Residents told HumAngle that the gunmen overpowered the school’s security personnel and whisked away several girls before escaping into surrounding bushes.
Locals also noted that the attackers were still within reachable distance and urged security forces to respond swiftly to prevent the victims from being moved deeper into the forest.
“We know they are still around the area. Government must move fast if these children are to be rescued,” a resident told the platform.
The Kebbi school attack occurred just hours after terrorists struck Rogun Village in Kpada District of Patigi LGA, Kwara State, where they killed two security operatives.
A security source told SaharaReporters that the armed men carried out a coordinated assault on a police outpost late Sunday night, engaging officers in a fierce exchange of gunfire.
