Three Champions, One Ring of Glory! 🥊🏆

Lagos, Nigeria – June 2026 — Balmoral Promotions honoured three Nigerian boxing champions during the official presentation of their World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa Championship belts at a special ceremony held at Villa Valhalla, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The event celebrated the achievements of Godday “Zodsolo” Appah, WBO Africa Cruiserweight Champion; Basit Adebayo, WBO Africa Lightweight Champion; and Taiwo Agbaje, WBO Africa Featherweight Champion.

The trio were formally presented with their championship belts in recognition of their dedication, discipline and outstanding performances, which have continued to elevate the profile of Nigerian boxing across Africa and beyond.

The ceremony attracted key stakeholders from the sports industry, including sports executives, media representatives, business leaders, boxing enthusiasts and other invited guests who came together to celebrate the champions’ accomplishments.
Among those present were Ezekiel Adamu, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Balmoral Group, and Osa Bazuu, Founder of N Effect Mode Ltd and manager of Godday Appah, alongside the champions and other individuals committed to advancing professional boxing in Nigeria.

Speaking during the ceremony, Osa Bazuu emphasised the importance of supporting Nigerian athletes and creating opportunities for them to compete at the highest levels.

Also speaking, Ezekiel Adamu, Founder and CEO of Balmoral Group, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to promoting excellence and creating platforms that support athletes.

Godday “Zodsolo” Appah secured the WBO Africa Cruiserweight title following his victory over Ezra Arenyeka, marking another major milestone in his professional boxing career.
Basit Adebayo was honoured for winning the WBO Africa Lightweight Championship, while Taiwo Agbaje received his belt as the WBO Africa Featherweight Champion.
The championship belt presentation further underscored the growing influence of Nigerian boxing and highlighted the crucial roles played by promoters, managers, sponsors and other stakeholders in creating opportunities for athletes to succeed on the international stage.
