Tiwa Savage Admits She’s Never Experienced True Love

Nigerian music icon Tiwa Savage has opened up about her personal life, revealing that she has never truly experienced the kind of love she considers genuine.

In a heartfelt conversation with Zeze Mills, the 44-year-old singer shared that, despite being in several relationships — including her marriage — real love has remained out of reach.

Tiwa was married to her former manager, Tunji “Tee Billz” Balogun, from 2013 until their split in 2018. The marriage produced a son, Jamil, in June 2015. Reflecting on her romantic past, she admitted that her emotions were rooted more in infatuation than in lasting love, even during her marriage.

“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son. Every time I look back at my relationships, I realize it wasn’t love. I thought it was, but it was just infatuation,” she confessed.

The singer also expressed the emotional toll of repeatedly searching for authentic love without success, wondering if it’s something she will ever find.

“Maybe love isn’t meant for me. I’ve tried repeatedly, and perhaps love isn’t in the cards for me this lifetime,” she said.
