Ukomu Igala Lokoja Chapter Elects New Executive Officers

The Ukomu Igala Organization, Lokoja Chapter, has elected new executive officers to manage the affairs of the association for the next tenure, with a strong call for unity and collective commitment toward the progress of the organization.
Speaking in a message delivered at the inauguration ceremony held in Lokoja, the National Leader of the organization, Retired Major General J.

A. Ataguba, said Ukomu Igala was founded out of a deep conviction to bring development closer to the people of the Igala Kingdom.

The inauguration ceremony, which also coincided with the end-of-year get-together, emphasized that the Igala Kingdom, described as the ninth largest local government area in West Africa, should not lag behind in political and developmental activities.
Retired Major General Ataguba, who was represented by the Administrative Secretary of the organization, Ahmed Hussein, explained that Ukomu Igala has worked tirelessly in recent times, particularly through the establishment of a military formation at Ogidibege Junction in Kogi East, with the support of the Ministry of Defence.
While calling on well-to-do Igala sons and daughters to rise to the challenge, Ataguba urged them to attract federal projects to Igala land, noting that such efforts would significantly improve the well-being of the people.
He commended members of Ukomu Igala in Kogi State and across Nigeria for their unwavering contributions to the development of the Igala Nation. He further charged the newly inaugurated executives to remain united in moving the organization forward and called on members to support the new leadership in steering the association to greater heights.
In his welcome address, the outgoing chairman, Chief Dejoh Amidu, said the journey of Ukomu Igala had been smooth since its inception, stressing that no association can make progress without the support of its members. He commended the National Leader, Retired Major General Ataguba, for his consistent support over the years and appealed to him to continue his goodwill toward the organization.
In his goodwill message, the Onu Igala of Lokoja, Chief Joseph Akpa, described Ukomu Igala as one of the major umbrella associations in Kogi State. He urged the newly elected executives to build on the legacy of their predecessors for the growth and development of Igala land.
Also speaking, representatives of the Egume Ome Descendant Union, Joel Jajah; the Igalamela Chairman of Ukomu Igala, Yunusa Abdullahi; and the Permanent Secretary, Shuaibu Jibrin, described Ukomu Igala as one of the most formidable organizations over the years. They appealed to Igala sons and daughters to continue supporting the organization and contribute positively to its growth and development.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairman, Chief Alhaji Iliyasu Ihiabe, thanked the National Leader, Retired Major General J. A. Ataguba, for his immense contributions to the organization since its inception. He also commended members of the committee, the Administrative Secretary, and Elder Gabriel Edicha for their steadfast support, assuring that the new executive would work tirelessly to move the organization forward with transparency and accountability.

Silas Ojima Achimugu – Assistant General Secretary
Alhaji Seidu Jibrin – Treasurer

Mrs. Rabiatu Jibo Mohammed – Assistant Financial Secretary
Isaac Iduguma – Director of Media and Publicity
Napoleon Peter Abah – Director of Mobilization and Strategy
Hajia Habibatu Onakpa Abdulallah – Assistant Director of Mobilization and Strategy
Hajia Rakiya Tijjani – Women Leader
Mrs. Blessing Ajuma Obaje – Assistant Women Leader
Mr. Atuluku Odoma – Auditor
Rotarian Iliyasu Shuaibu – Director of Welfare
Barrister Samuel Unwuchola – Legal Adviser, among others.
The highlight of the event was a special prayer offered for Kogi State and Igala land.
