“Your Bedroom Is Reserved in Hell” – Tonto Dikeh Jokingly Blames “Bad Friends” for Her Failed Music Career
Actress-turned-politician Tonto Dikeh has taken a humorous stroll down memory lane, reflecting on her short-lived music career with laughter and valuable lessons learned.
In a post shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, the 40-year-old mother of one uploaded a throwback video of herself singing the gospel tune “God is Good All the Time,” joking about how unbearable she might have been if she could actually sing well.
She wrote:
> “If I could sing ehn, una for don dey sick of me… Like you don’t even understand. Likkeeeeeeeeeeee who is Tiwa? Who is Whitney, who is CeCe Winans? Taaaaahhhhhhh 😂😂😂😂
Watching this video reminds me of the time I had the worst kind of friends who pushed me to release an album… Look sneeze/sniper and co, your bedroom is been reserved in hell 😂😂😂🥰😂😩
Moral of this lesson: choose your friends wisely, more importantly be wise 😂💃🏾🤗.”
The post quickly sparked laughter among fans who fondly recalled her brief attempt at a music career.
Tonto Dikeh ventured into the music industry in 2012, debuting with singles such as “Hi” and “Itz Ova.” She later released other songs including “Crazically Fit” featuring Terry G, “Sheba” featuring Solid Star, “Ekebe,” and “Sugar Rush” featuring D’banj.
In June 2014, she signed with D’banj’s DB Records, though her time with the label was short-lived, ending less than a year later. Despite facing harsh criticism and being labeled “off-key” by fans, Tonto has always embraced her musical past with humor.
“I failed woefully in music. But I still don’t regret it,” she once said in an interview. “When I say I failed in music, it’s not because my music wasn’t good. I think I lost the confidence to continue. Music is about consistency. If I had kept going, I would have made good music.”
Now more focused on politics and philanthropy, the Nollywood star continues to laugh at her early music days—using them as reminders of growth, resilience, and the importance of surrounding oneself with the right people.
