Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or 2Face, has broken his silence over the controversy surrounding his marriage to Natasha, accusing members of his family of escalating the situation while pretending to “save” him.

The issue, which has trended heavily across social media for days, reportedly began in the United Kingdom after an alleged confrontation between 2Baba and Natasha drew the attention of local authorities.

Reports indicate that the singer was briefly detained following the incident.

Tensions heightened when 2Baba and Natasha appeared on a live Instagram session hosted by broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where they exchanged heated words before thousands of viewers. The viral video triggered widespread speculation about trouble in their marriage and raised concerns about the singer’s emotional and mental state.

Further fueling the public conversation was a cryptic message shared by 2Baba’s brother, Hyacinth Idibia, hinting at deepening family involvement — a development that sparked mixed reactions from fans and observers online.

In a video message released Thursday night, 2Baba expressed strong disappointment over what he described as harmful interference from his relatives. He said their actions had not only disrupted his peace but also put Natasha in harm’s way.

“This whole thing has gotten dangerously out of hand. I’m not going to be quiet anymore. I feel I have to say some facts here. I’m a grown man and believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with. My family, in the pretext of trying to save me, has actually destroyed me and killed someone’s daughter’s character. Natasha is getting death threats right now,” he stated.

The legendary “African Queen” singer acknowledged that disagreements occur in every relationship but insisted that the current media frenzy had gone far beyond normal limits.

“Fine, we have had our quarrels, but who doesn’t quarrel with their spouses? This is getting out of hand. I am perfectly okay. Everyone has been seeing me out there; I did my show recently in Abuja and a lot of people were there. How do you say you want to save me but you are messing the whole thing up? This is unacceptable,” he said.

2Baba also recalled similar incidents during his past marital challenges with actress Annie Idibia, describing the recurring family involvement as emotionally exhausting and dangerous.

“My family did this with Annie — the same thing. We all have our differences, but this is becoming so dangerous right now,” he lamented.
