Ramadan Fasting to begin Tomorrow as Saudi Arabia sights New Moon

The authorities of the Saudi Arabia has announced the sighting of the Crescent of the moon to herald the beginning of Ramadan Fasting tomorrow, March 1.

This is contained in the message posted online today, February 28, the authorities said the new moon has been sighted.

This came even as the Sultan of Sokoto, Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar III also called on Muslims across the country to look for the crescent of Ramadan today evening.

A message from the Sultanate listed a number of Islamic scholars to be contacted if the crescent is sighted for final announcement of the beginning of the Fasting.
The statement said that if the crescent is not signed today, Fasting will begin on Sunday, March 2.
