BREAKING: Anambra’s Onyinyechi Basil Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025
Onyinyechi Basil, representing Anambra State, has emerged as Miss Universe Nigeria 2025.
Basil clinched the highly coveted crown after edging out Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, in the final stage of the competition, which held on Saturday night in Lagos.
Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, was named second runner-up, while Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, finished as third runner-up.
Also making the top five was Miss Akwa Ibom, Idah Eno, who earned the separate crown of Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025.
From the 22 contestants who began the journey, only 10 advanced to the final stage, including Miss Delta, Miss Ekiti, Miss Oyo, Miss Imo, and Miss Ebonyi.
The glamorous finale, hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson, attracted a huge audience and stirred buzz across social media as fans followed the countdown to the crown.
Basil succeeds Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidinma Adetshina, the reigning Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
With her new title, Basil will now represent Nigeria at the global Miss Universe pageant, where she is set to compete with contestants from across the world later this year.
