Former Nigerian queen, Zaynab Otiti-Obanor, has opened up about the reasons behind her marriage to Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Through a statement shared by her media aide, David Adeoye, Otiti-Obanor described her union with Mr. Akume as one founded on maturity, shared goals, and mutual support.
She emphasized that their relationship was rooted in a commitment to personal stability and public service, rather than seeking public attention.
According to her, the marriage reflects values such as humility, discipline, empathy, and responsibility, anchored in a sincere dedication to serving others.
The couple made their first public appearance together during the SGF’s 72nd birthday celebration in Gboko, Benue State. In a video from the event, Zaynab pledged to contribute to improving the lives of residents in Benue as part of her new role in the community.
Zaynab was previously married to Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, in a union that ended in divorce in 2017. Following their separation, she reportedly lived in Qatar before returning to Nigeria and marrying Mr. Akume.
