Tinubu Orders Military, Police, DSS to Hunt Terrorists Behind Kasuwan Daji Attack

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered Nigeria’s security chiefs to track down and apprehend those responsible for the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State, vowing that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
The President directed the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to intensify operations aimed at arresting the attackers and rescuing all abducted victims.
Tinubu issued the directive on Sunday following the killing of villagers and the abduction of women and children by suspected terrorists believed to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara states after a United States airstrike carried out on Christmas Eve.
Condemning the attack, the President described it as a direct assault on the nation’s peace and security. He expressed deep sympathy with the families of the victims and extended condolences to the government and people of Niger State.
“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must face the full consequences of their criminal actions,” Tinubu said. “No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down.
Those who aid, abet or enable them in any form will also be caught and brought to justice.”
The President assured residents of Niger State that security agencies have been mandated to strengthen surveillance and operations around vulnerable communities, particularly areas close to forests known to serve as hideouts for criminal elements.
He also urged Nigerians to remain united and vigilant, warning against divisive rhetoric that could undermine national cohesion and security during what he described as a challenging period.
“These times demand our humanity,” Tinubu said. “We must stand together as one people and confront these criminals in unison. United, we can and must defeat them, deny them any sanctuary, and restore peace and security to the affected communities.”
The attack on Kasuwan Daji has heightened concerns over the movement of armed groups across Nigeria’s northwest and north-central regions, prompting renewed calls for sustained military and intelligence operations.
