BREAKING: Nwajiuba Announces Presidential Bid on ADC Platform

Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, former Minister of State for Education and a two-term member of the House of Representatives, has officially declared his intention to run for the office of President of Nigeria under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
A seasoned legal practitioner called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989, Nwajiuba also previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

His entry into the presidential race is driven by what he describes as a “competence-first” philosophy, placing experience, sound policy formulation, and deep institutional knowledge at the heart of national leadership.
In his declaration, Nwajiuba stressed that Nigeria’s pressing challenges demand leadership rooted in clear policies, strong negotiation capacity, and an effective grassroots political structure, rather than mere rhetoric. He said his experience across the legislative and executive arms of government, as well as key national institutions, has given him a comprehensive grasp of governance processes and public finance management.
The former minister is expected to prioritize education reform, economic stabilization, and the restoration of public confidence in government institutions as core elements of his campaign. Analysts note that his decision to contest on the ADC platform introduces a fresh dynamic into the presidential race, especially as smaller political parties seek to offer Nigerians alternative leadership options.
With this declaration, Nwajiuba joins an expanding field of presidential hopefuls seeking to influence the national discourse ahead of the next general election, as conversations around competence, experience, and inclusive governance continue to intensify.
