Nigeria, China Strengthen Security Cooperation as IGP Hosts Ambassador in Abuja

Nigeria and China have moved to deepen bilateral security cooperation following a high level meeting between the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai.

The meeting, held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, focused on expanding collaboration in intelligence sharing, capacity building and overall security coordination between both countries.
During the engagement, the police chief emphasised the importance of sustained international partnerships in addressing evolving security threats. He noted that global cooperation has become critical in enhancing the operational efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to him, such alliances are necessary to tackle modern security challenges, particularly in an increasingly complex and interconnected environment.
The visit also reinforced mutual commitments between Nigeria and China to improve safety, strengthen knowledge exchange and provide strategic support in key areas of policing.
The development a broader effort by Nigerian authorities to leverage international partnerships in strengthening the country’s internal security architecture and improving law enforcement outcomes.
