Tinubu Condoles With El-Rufai on Mother’s Passing in Cairo

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sympathy to former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai following the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma, who passed away in Cairo on Friday, March 27, 2026.

In a statement signed by his Spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Hajiya Umma as a remarkable woman who raised children and grandchildren who have positively impacted Nigeria.

Tinubu prayed that the memories of her love, guidance, and wisdom bring comfort to the El-Rufai family and that Allah grants her Aljannah Firdaus.

“Losing a mother is a pain unlike any other,” he said, joining family, friends, and well-wishers in mourning the late matriarch.
