The Vice President Ministerial of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Reverend John Enyinnaya, has called on individuals in positions of authority to take advantage of their offices to positively impact the lives of citizens and advance the nation.

Reverend Enyinnaya made the appeal while preaching as a guest minister at the 113th Convention Service held at the First Baptist Church, Garki, Abuja.
He urged leaders to regard their time in office as an opportunity to serve the people and ease their suffering.
The cleric noted that both elected and appointed officials have no justification for poor performance, as they were already aware of the challenges before taking up their responsibilities.

He also encouraged Christians to remain committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and to foster peaceful relationships with others.
“Christians are the hope of Nigeria. The Bible describes Christians as the light of the world and the salt of the earth,” he said.
Speaking on the convention theme, “Entering into Newness, Building Resilience, Peace and Unity in Adversity,” Reverend Enyinnaya urged believers to fully depend on God and surrender their lives to Him.
The Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Garki, Abuja, Reverend Tom Takpatore, explained that the convention brought together members of the Nigerian Baptist Convention for fellowship and reflection on God’s word.
He added that the annual gathering provides an opportunity for members to seek God’s guidance and pray for national transformation.
Also speaking, the President of the FCT Women Group of the church, Mrs. Ronke Kehinde, expressed confidence that the convention would have a positive impact on women, especially in strengthening homes facing challenges.
“It is a time for us to seek God, reassess our lives, and plan ahead. We believe the glory of God will be revealed,” she said.
She further emphasized faith in Christ as a source of hope amid difficult times.
Another women leader, Mrs. Adenike Takpatore, reminded women of their important role in influencing their homes and communities by sharing the word of God and reaching out to those in spiritual bondage.
She encouraged women not to allow the current challenges in the country to hinder their responsibilities at home.
