2027 build-up: ADC fixes dates, insists only NEC-approved processes will stand
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned its members and stakeholders not to take part in any unauthorised congresses or factional political activities, stating that such exercises will be considered null and void.
This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja and signed by the Chairman of State Chairmen, Kingsley Ogga, on behalf of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
The party reaffirmed that only activities carried out through its recognised and legitimate NEC structures will be deemed valid, in accordance with its constitution, the Electoral Act, and a recent Federal High Court judgment in Abuja.
The statement also outlined the timetable for the party’s internal processes in preparation for the 2027 general election.
According to the schedule, ward and Local Government Area (LGA) non-elective congresses are set to take place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, while the state congress will follow on Friday, May 8, 2026.
It further announced that the party’s special convention and presidential primary will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
The ADC emphasised that only delegates, nominations, and outcomes emerging from NEC-approved processes will be accepted as valid and binding for the 2027 general election.
