Governor Eno’s Leadership Will Boost APC, Tinubu’s Chances In Akwa Ibom — Akpabi
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday declared in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, that the state would produce the highest number of votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the South-South geopolitical zone during the 2027 elections.
Akpabio made the statement during a consultation meeting involving key stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress held at the Government House in Uyo. The gathering was organised as Governor Umo Eno formally consulted party members regarding his 2027 re-election bid.
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, Akpabio described Governor Eno as a peaceful and God-fearing leader whose inclusive style of governance has inspired confidence among the people.
According to him, the governor’s peaceful disposition and ability to unite people across the state have strengthened the belief that Akwa Ibom would deliver the highest number of votes in the South-South region.
Akpabio also commended Governor Eno for consulting party members and stakeholders despite facing no opposition for the party’s governorship ticket, describing the move as a reflection of humility and good leadership.
He further noted that ongoing developmental projects across the state showed that there was effective governance in place. He praised the administration for initiating, completing and commissioning projects, as well as reviving abandoned ones for public use.
The Senate President also congratulated the governor on the recent commencement of international flights at the Victor Attah International Airport.
Akpabio added that the people and government of Akwa Ibom remained grateful to President Tinubu for supporting the emergence of one of their sons as President of the Senate, stressing that the appreciation would be demonstrated at the polls next year.
