Four Members Emerge as New Deacons and Deaconesses at First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada

As part of efforts to further propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ within and outside the Federal Capital Territory, First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada, Abuja, has selected two additional Deacons and two Deaconesses.

The selection followed months of fasting, prayer, and spiritual lectures on the selection of Deacons and Deaconesses in accordance with the teachings of the Bible and the Constitution of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC).
The newly selected Deacons are Prof. Samuel Olanrewaju of the University of Abuja and Dr. Tayo Olajide of the National Mathematical Centre, Sheda, Abuja.
The Deaconesses are Prof. Mrs. Comfort Olanrewaju, also of the University of Abuja, and Mrs. Bose Ibidapo of Junior Secondary School, Dupka, in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
Announcing the names of the Deacons and Deaconesses during Sunday’s service, the Chairman of the Screening Committee, Deacon Victor Asade, said the four emerged from among eight candidates nominated by members of the church.
They are expected to be ordained soon upon the completion of necessary arrangements and preparations by the Executive Members of the Church.
