FFO Community Combines Civic Action, Culture at PVC–Food Hangout

The For Fun Only (FFO) Community has announced the maiden edition of its PVC–Amala Hangout, a unique civic engagement initiative aimed at encouraging young Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) while creating an atmosphere of fun, networking, and community bonding.

The event, scheduled for Thursday, July 2, 2026 will bring together young people from across Ibadan for a shared PVC registration experience at an Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) registration centre. Following the registration exercise, participants will enjoy games, networking sessions, content creation activities, conversations, and an Amala hangout celebrating one of Ibadan’s most recognised cultural traditions.

Nigerian Canadian Newspaper Canada reports that The FFO Community believes civic participation can be exciting, accessible, and community-driven. Through the initiative, the organisation seeks to change the perception that obtaining a PVC is stressful by transforming it into an opportunity for connection, friendship, and collective action.

According to the convener , Busari Toheeb Dolapo popularly known as Mc Torban President of the For Fun Only Community, said the idea was created to make civic responsibility more engaging for young Nigerians.

Many young people delay getting their PVC because they see the process as stressful or inconvenient. We want to change that experience by creating an environment where people can take an important civic step together while enjoying the strength of community. At FFO, we believe impact can happen through fun, connection, and shared purpose, he said.

He added that including Amala in the event was a deliberate reflection of Ibadan’s culture and identity.

Amala represents more than food; it represents togetherness and shared experiences. We wanted to combine civic responsibility with something that naturally brings people together,”* he said.

Beyond PVC registration, attendees will participate in interactive games, networking opportunities, photo sessions, and meaningful discussions designed to strengthen relationships and encourage active citizenship among young Nigerians.

The event is open to eligible Nigerians, especially first-time voters and individuals who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards. Participants are encouraged to register ahead of time through the official registration platform provided by the organisers, as spaces are limited.
