‎A CALL FOR UNITY: THE TIME FOR IGALA TO SPEAK WITH ONE VOICE ‎

Published

on

‎This is a call to all Igala sons and daughters, at home and in the diaspora, across political parties, communities and different spheres of influence.

It is also a special appeal to our traditional and community leaders, political stakeholders, youths, women, professionals, and particularly our brothers and sisters who use social media as a platform for public engagement.

At this critical moment in our history, the interest of Igala land must rise above our individual political differences.

‎As we approach the 2027 general elections, we must recognise that division will only weaken our collective strength. Whatever political party we belong to and whatever personal political interests we may have, there comes a time when the survival, dignity and political relevance of our people must take precedence.

If we genuinely desire stronger representation and a greater voice for our people at the state and national levels, then the time to build a common front is now.

‎I particularly appeal to our brothers and sisters on social media to reconsider the constant attacks, insults and political battles among ourselves. Our differences should never become weapons for destroying one another. When we spend our energy fighting ourselves, exposing our divisions and pulling down our own people, we weaken the very cause we claim to defend.

Those who benefit politically from a divided Igala nation understand this weakness and can exploit our internal disagreements to keep us distracted and fragmented.

‎We must therefore refuse to become instruments of division. Let us disagree without destroying one another, debate without hatred, and pursue our political choices without sacrificing our collective interest.

Our strength will not come from belonging to the same political party; it will come from recognising that, beyond party lines, we share a common heritage and a responsibility to protect the political future and legitimate interests of our people.

‎The journey towards 2027 requires maturity, reconciliation, strategic thinking and unity of purpose.

This is the moment to close ranks, strengthen our common front and speak with a voice that cannot be ignored. Igala unity must come first. The time is now.
