Alleged Plot to Poison Tinubu Is False – Presidency

The Presidency has dismissed as false and malicious reports circulating online that one of the chefs serving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House was arrested over an alleged plot to poison him.

The reaction followed a viral report in the early hours of Sunday claiming there had been an attempt on the President’s life.

According to The Nation newspaper, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Tope Ajayi, described the report as entirely false and fabricated.
“Fake,” Ajayi said in a brief response when contacted on the matter. He noted that the report lacked a credible source and contained no verifiable details, yet gained traction on social media—an occurrence he said was common in an environment where speculative journalism easily spreads.
