APC Chairman Visits El-Rufai, Condoles Over Mother’s Death

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on Saturday paid a condolence visit to former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, at his residence in Abuja.

The visit was to sympathise with the former governor over the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt, after a period of illness.

Yilwatda, during the visit, expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended the condolences of the APC leadership and members nationwide to the El-Rufai family.

He described the late matriarch as a pillar of support whose life and legacy would be remembered by all who knew her.

El-Rufai, in response, appreciated the APC chairman for the visit and the show of solidarity during the family’s time of grief.

Hajiya Umma El-Rufai is expected to be laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
