Corps Marshal Urges Construction Companies to Install Road Signs at Project Sites
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mallam Shehu Mohammed, has directed all construction companies to ensure the proper placement of road signs at every construction site across the country.
Issuing the directive, the Corps Marshal stated that the measure is essential to safeguard motorists and other road users around construction zones.
To guarantee full compliance, he has instructed all Commanding Officers in FRSC formations nationwide to commence immediate, strict, and effective enforcement of the directive.
Mallam Mohammed strongly criticised the persistent failure of some construction firms to provide adequate warning, information, and diversion signs at project sites—an omission that endangers road users.
He stressed that the directive is conclusive and enforceable, adding that FRSC field Commands will heighten supervision, and any contractor found disregarding approved safety standards will face stringent regulatory sanctions.
Reaffirming the FRSC’s commitment, the Corps Marshal pledged continued collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that the Federal Government’s investment in road infrastructure delivers safer and more secure travel for all.
