EASA Clears TAAG’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner for European Operations

TAAG Angola Airlines has received approval from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to operate its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on commercial flights within European airspace, marking a major milestone in the airline’s fleet modernization programme.
The authorization allows the Angolan flag carrier to deploy the aircraft on routes to destinations within the European Union following the completion of EASA’s certification and technical oversight requirements.
The approval is expected to strengthen TAAG’s operational capabilities and support its efforts to enhance safety, efficiency, and service quality.As part of the initial rollout, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will be introduced on the Luanda–Lisbon–Luanda route, one of TAAG’s most important connections to the European market. The airline said the aircraft will improve passenger comfort while boosting competitiveness on the strategic route.
Speaking on the development, TAAG Chairman, Clóvis Rosa, described the approval as a recognition of the airline’s commitment to maintaining high operational and safety standards.
According to him, EASA’s authorization reflects the technical, operational and regulatory compliance efforts undertaken by the carrier and further strengthens TAAG’s credibility with international aviation authorities, partners and customers.
The airline said it will continue working with regulators and technical teams to support the gradual integration of its Boeing 787 fleet into international operations as it pursues broader expansion and modernization goals.
TAAG has been investing in fleet renewal as part of efforts to improve service delivery and position itself more strongly in regional and international aviation markets.
