FCT Public Complaints Commission Continues Its Enlightenment Campaign On Conflict Resolution To Palaces Of Traditional Rulers In Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Public Complaints Commission, PCC, says the Commission in the last one year received eight thousand complains from indigenes and other residents of the Territory out of which over four thousand have been resolved.

The Commissioner, FCT Public Complaints Commission, Hon. Musa Dikko who made this known in Abuja during the Commission’s Enlightenment Campaign to the Palaces of the Sa’karuyi of Karu, His Royal Highness Joseph Danfulani and the Chief of Karshi, Alhaji Ismaila Danladi said the PCC is committed to ensuring a peaceful society through dialogue and conflict resolutions among residents of FCT.

According to Hon. Musa Dikko, the FCT Public Complaints Commission will take the sensitization campaign to the palace of all traditional rulers in the six Area Councils of the Territory to keep people at the grassroots abreast of the mandate of PCC towards maintaining a just and fair society.

While soliciting the support of traditional rulers in the FCT towards realizing the objectives of the Commission, Hon. Musa Dikko stressed the need for them to always educate their people on the need to embrace government’s developmental efforts in repositioning the nation’s capital in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration.

He expressed concern over numerous litigation among communities most especially farmers and herders.

The Commissioner therefore advised community leaders to embrace the services of PCC and avoid unnecessary conflicts to ensure peaceful resolution and justice for everyone.

“Our primary essence of visiting traditional institutions particularly palaces of traditional rulers in Bwari is to resensitize them and create more awareness within their domain to understand the mandate of Public Complaints Commission and the relationship with traditional institutions and other Nigerians and also to enlighten them on their roles towards conflict resolutions among their subjects and communities most especially as it relates to land issues in the Federal Capital Territory where Government’s developmental projects are currently being carried out because some of their subjects are not aware of these developmental processes hence the need for the Royal Fathers to educate them on the need to embrace peaceful resolution of all issues towards enhancing growth and development in the nation’s capital ” He explained

Hon. Musa Dikko who described the Commission as the oldest anti corruption Agency in the country stressed the need for the traditional rulers to always sensitize their subjects on the need to avoid court cases and report all grievances to the PCC

“The National Assembly has mandated the PCC to attend promptly and initiate cases even on behalf of the people to reduce numbers of litigations we have all over the country and the only way we can reduce that is when the people know the existence of Public Complaints Commission and its roles therefore I urge them to always approach the Commission in their various Local Government, Communities and States promptly to see how we can resolve whatever issue that is coming among them ” Hon. Musa Dikko added.

In their separate remarks during the visit, the Sa’karuyi of Karu, His Royal Highness, Joseph Danfulani and the Chief of Karshi, Alhaji Ismaila Danladi congratulated Hon. Musa Dikko on his appointment as the Commissioner, FCT Public Complaints Commission and commended the Commission for the enlightenment campaign as well as promised their support to the Commission through the dissemination of its activities to their people to enable it achieve its objectives.

While also commending the leadership qualities of Hon. Musa Dikko since assumption of office as the Commissioner, FCT Public Complaints Commission, the Traditional Rulers advised him to keep the flag flying through effective and productive representation of FCT in the Commission.
