FG, States, LGCs Share N1.894 Trillion February 2026 Revenue
A total sum of N1.894 trillion from the February 2026 Federation Account Revenue has been distributed to the Federal Government, state governments and Local Government Councils.
The allocation was approved during the March 2026 meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) held in Abuja.
The N1.894 trillion total distributable revenue consisted of N1.274 trillion as statutory revenue and N619.119 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT).
A communiqué issued after the meeting stated that total gross revenue available for February 2026 stood at N2.230 trillion. From this amount, N77.302 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while N259.078 billion was set aside for transfers, refunds and savings.
According to the communiqué, gross statutory revenue for February 2026 was N1.561 trillion, which was lower than the N1.957 trillion recorded in January 2026 by N395.138 billion.
Similarly, gross revenue generated from Value Added Tax (VAT) in February 2026 amounted to N668.450 billion. This figure was lower than the N1.083 trillion recorded in January 2026, representing a decline of N414.710 billion.
From the total distributable revenue of N1.894 trillion, the Federal Government received N675.088 billion, while the state governments received N651.525 billion.
Local Government Councils received N456.467 billion, while N110.949 billion, representing 13 percent of mineral revenue, was shared to oil-producing states as derivation revenue.
From the N1.274 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N613.174 billion, the state governments received N311.010 billion, while the Local Government Councils received N239.776 billion. The sum of N110.949 billion was also allocated to the benefiting states as derivation revenue.
From the N619.119 billion distributable Value Added Tax (VAT), the Federal Government received N61.912 billion, state governments received N340.515 billion, while Local Government Councils received N216.692 billion.
The communiqué further noted that oil and gas royalty and excise duty recorded significant increases in February. However, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Hydrocarbon Tax (HT), Companies Income Tax (CIT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Stamp Duties (SDT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) witnessed notable declines.
Import Duty and Common External Tariff (CET) showed marginal increases during the period.
