Insecurity: Babagbemi Calls for Renewed Efforts
By Iyojo Ameh
Pastor Babagbemi Joseph Adejola, founder of GB IRORUN FOUNDATION, has called for renewed and sustained efforts to tackle insecurity across Yagbaland and its environs.
Adejola made the call while addressing newsmen in Abuja on Monday, noting that although government at various levels had taken commendable steps towards improving security, much more remained to be done to ensure the safety of lives and property in Yagbaland.
He lauded the initiatives and interventions of the State, and Local Governments, particularly in strengthening security architecture, but maintained that the rural areas and farmlands remained vulnerable to criminal activities, including herders’ attacks and banditry.
“The government has done a lot, but we must not rest until Yagbaland is completely secure. Our farmers must be able to go to their farms without fear, and our people must live in peace,” he said.
Pastor Adejola, who is also a vocal advocate for rural development, urged community leaders, traditional rulers, and youth groups to work collaboratively with security agencies to complement government efforts.
He emphasized that achieving lasting security would foster economic development, food security, and social harmony in Yagbaland.
“We have the resources, the people, and the government’s support. What remains is a united resolve to end insecurity in all forms,” he added.
The philanthropist further appealed for increased deployment of security personnel to rural settlements and called on residents to remain vigilant and proactive in reporting suspicious activities.
