The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed grief over the death of one of its prominent members in Jigawa State and former member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Abba Anas Adamu, who reportedly died after being abducted by bandits along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

In a statement issued by the party, the ADC said it was deeply saddened by the tragic development involving the former lawmaker.

The party, on behalf of its National Chairman, National Secretary, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), and the entire ADC family, described the late politician as a dedicated public servant who committed himself to grassroots politics with humility, integrity, and dignity.
Alhaji Abba Anas Adamu represented the Birniwa/Guri/Kirikasamma Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives between 2007 and 2011. According to the party, he was admired for his calm nature, accessibility, and dedication to the welfare of his constituents.
ADC noted that his death is a painful loss not only to his immediate family and Jigawa State but also to the entire party.
The party prayed that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives strength and comfort to his family and loved ones during the difficult period.
ADC further stated that the incident once again highlights the worsening security challenges facing the country.
The statement was signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
