Jukun Wanu People Seek justice and fairness in Benue State

President Bola Tinubu has been urged to look into the alleged maginizisation of Jukun Wanu people, also known as Riverine Jukun in Benue State.
The Secretary General of the National Association Of Jukun Wanu NAJUWA, Musa Atase while addressing news men in Abuja said despite being in Fourteen Local Governments across the state, the Jukun people are not carried along in governance.
He stressed that the Jukun people, being the original inhabitants of the area, have no functional hospital, school, and poor state of infrastructure, which makes them not enjoy the Dividends of Democracy in the Area.
” The Jukun Wanu also known as the Riverine Jukun are present in Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba and Adamawa states while in Benue, we are in about Twenty One communities across Makurdi, Guma and Logo local government areas.
He also appealed to the Benue State Government to include sons and daughters of Jukun communities in positions of authority to enable them to have a sense of belonging in the affairs of the state.
Musa Atase emphasized that in line with their desire for the creation of a local government, machinery has been put in place to pursue the plan by visiting all the stakeholders.
Musa Atase dismissed the allegation that Riverine Jukun, especially in Abinisi are collaborating with Herdsmen to attack Tiv communities.
According to him, all the allegations against the Jukuns are baseless, hateful, and designed to incite violence in the State .
He assured that the Jukuns in Benue State would continue to promote harmonious relationship and pursue their demands within the ambit of the law.
Those presentnt at the News Conference include, National President of the Association, Moses Amankye, and other prominent sons and daughters of the Jukun Wanu.
