Kankia Applauds Radda’s Sports Drive, Commends Katsina Emir on Heritage

The National Legal Adviser (NLA) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, has applauded Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, for his unwavering commitment to the development of sports in the state.
Kankia also praised His Royal Highness, Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, the Emir of Katsina, for his efforts to preserve the historical and cultural values of the emirate.
The APC National Legal Adviser made the commendation while extending goodwill to participants in the 2026 polo season, wishing players and other stakeholders safe and successful matches.
He said Governor Radda’s commitment to sports development was helping to sustain sporting activities while creating opportunities for athletes to showcase their talents.
Kankia noted that investment in sports goes beyond competition, stressing that the sector could promote youth development, discipline, unity and positive engagement among young people.
He also commended the Katsina Emir for sustaining the historical traditions and values associated with the emirate, describing the preservation of cultural heritage as an important responsibility for both present and future generations.
According to him, the combination of sports development and cultural preservation strengthens the identity of Katsina State and provides a platform for its heritage to remain relevant to younger generations.
The APC chieftain particularly extended his best wishes to players participating in the 2026 polo competitions, urging them to demonstrate sportsmanship and compete in the spirit of fair play.
He wished all the polo players safe matches and a successful 2026 season.
Kankia’s remarks come against the backdrop of growing efforts by governments and traditional institutions across the country to use sports and cultural activities to promote tourism, preserve heritage and deepen community engagement.
He said sustained support for sports, alongside the preservation of historical values, would continue to contribute to the development and visibility of Katsina State.
