Nasarawa Deputy Speaker Oyanki Defects from PDP to APC

The Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Adamu Oyanki, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The state’s number two lawmaker announced his defection on Wednesday during a thank-you visit to the Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr.

Hon. Oyanki represents Doma North Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
It was gathered that the Deputy Speaker is expected to formally notify the Speaker of the House of his defection through a letter when lawmakers resume plenary from recess next week. Reports also indicate that he may state the reasons for his defection when the letter is read on the floor of the House.
