The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) have strengthened their partnership to enhance regulatory transparency and accelerate economic growth in Nigeria.

This commitment was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, Aminu Maida, to the Registrar General and Chief Executive Officer of the CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, in Abuja.

During the meeting, Maida praised the CAC’s progress in digital transformation, describing it as a benchmark for other regulatory agencies.

He noted that the NCC is looking to leverage CAC’s digital innovations to improve its licensing processes and overall operational efficiency.

He also emphasised the importance of strict compliance with the Nigerian Communications Act, particularly in ensuring transparency in ownership structures and shareholding among licensed telecom operators.

According to him, closer collaboration between both agencies would strengthen regulatory oversight and improve accountability within the sector.

In his response, Magaji highlighted the shared mandate of both institutions in promoting economic growth while ensuring regulatory compliance.

He noted that the CAC has continued to partner with other agencies in line with the Federal Government’s reform agenda.

Magaji further outlined several CAC digital platforms and services that could be integrated into NCC systems to enhance efficiency.
