Nigeria @65: NCDC Commends NASS for Budget Approval, Reaffirms Commitment to North Central Development

As Nigeria celebrates its 65th Independence Anniversary, the Chairman of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Barr. Cosmas Akighir, has assured that the commission is ready to drive a new era of growth and transformation in the region.
In his Independence message, Akighir emphasized the commission’s unwavering resolve to build “a future where every community in North Central thrives.”
He noted that the NCDC would play a crucial role in advancing sustainable development and prosperity across the six states of the North Central zone.
“Fortunately, the just-approved, long-awaited NCDC budget by the National Assembly on September 30, 2025, marks a significant milestone. This vital funding will accelerate projects, infrastructure, and initiatives essential to transforming the North Central region,” he stated.
Akighir further assured that the commission is determined to deploy the resources efficiently to unlock the region’s potential, uplift livelihoods, and promote enduring peace and progress.
