NNPC Limited has announced the successful restoration of the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) in Warri, Delta State.

The disclosure was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the corporation, Andy Odeh, and made available to journalists.

According to the statement, following the unexpected explosion on December 10, 2025, NNPC Limited immediately activated its emergency response mechanisms, deployed coordinated containment measures, and mobilised multidisciplinary teams to address the incident.

The affected section of the pipeline was subsequently repaired, pressure-tested, and safely recommissioned.
The corporation confirmed that the pipeline is now fully operational, underscoring its resilience and strong commitment to ensuring national energy security.
NNPC Limited attributed the swift restoration to the steadfast support of host communities, the guidance of relevant regulators, the vigilance of security agencies, as well as the dedication and professionalism of its partners and staff. The collective effort, the statement noted, transformed a challenging situation into a success story, with operations restored in record time while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
As it moves forward, NNPC Limited reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection, community safety, and the integrity and reliability of its assets, while thanking stakeholders for their continued trust as the company sustains progress for Nigeria and beyond.
