NSE Holds Thanksgiving Service, Prays for Divine Direction as New President Assumes Office

In an atmosphere marked by gratitude and sober reflection, members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) converged on Sunday, January 18, 2026, for a special thanksgiving service to formally round off activities marking the inauguration of the Society’s 35th President, Engr.

The thanksgiving service took place at the All Christian Fellowship Centre, Maitama, Abuja, and was attended by members of the NSE Executive Committee, Distinguished Fellows, and Engineers representing various branches of the Society. The delegation was led by the Deputy President, Engr. Valerie Ifueko Agberagba, FNSE.

While addressing the congregation, Engr. Agberagba explained that the Society deemed it necessary to return all glory to God in appreciation of His grace and mercy, which ensured a seamless and peaceful transition to the new leadership. She noted that the gathering was both an act of thanksgiving and a moment for collective prayer and introspection.
She further stated that the NSE leadership used the occasion to seek divine wisdom, guidance, and the strength needed to faithfully discharge the responsibilities entrusted to it by more than 81,000 members across 93 branches within Nigeria and in the diaspora.
Engr. Agberagba also conveyed the Society’s appreciation to the church leadership for the warm reception accorded to NSE members. In his prayers, the Founder and General Overseer of the Church, Dr. William Okoye, committed the NSE leadership into God’s hands, praying for strength, mercy, and divine guidance to enable the Society attain greater heights. He also prayed for the continued growth of the NSE and the overall progress of the nation.
