The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, has congratulated the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, Rt. Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara, on his 59th birthday.

In a congratulatory message issued in Abuja, the Council’s Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, described Hon. Betara as a resilient and humble leader whose public service record reflects dedication to national development and unity.

Hon. Betara, who has represented Biu, Kwaya Kusar, Bayo and Shani Federal Constituency since 2007, holds diplomas in Business Administration and Accountancy and has been recognised for his consistent legislative contributions over the years.

The NUJ noted that under his leadership, the FCT Committee of the House has overseen improved budgetary provisions and infrastructural developments aimed at enhancing the welfare of residents of the capital city.

The statement also highlighted the lawmaker’s philanthropic interventions, including the provision of medical equipment, youth and women empowerment initiatives, and support for vulnerable communities. Other projects credited to him include the establishment of health centres, installation of street lighting, supply of ambulances and improvements to local sports facilities.
