NUJ FCT Mourns With Ex-Chairman Amos Dunia Over Sudden Death of Son

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has expressed profound grief over the sudden passing of El-Nathan Amos, the son of former Council Chairman, Mr. Amos Dunia.

The Union described the news, which broke on Sunday, November 30, 2025, as shocking and deeply heartbreaking.

El-Nathan reportedly slumped and died at home in the early hours of the morning.

In an official statement issued on Monday in Abuja and signed by the Council Secretary, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, the NUJ FCT said the tragedy has cast a shadow of sorrow over the journalism community.

Oyekunle noted that the late El-Nathan was a vibrant young man with a promising future, adding that his untimely death is a painful blow not only to the Dunia family but to the entire NUJ FCT family.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of El-Nathan’s passing. This loss is irreparable, and it has left our hearts heavy with grief. We pray that God grants the family strength to bear this painful loss,” the statement read.

The Council also paid tribute to Mr. Amos Dunia, describing him as a respected elder of the union and a seasoned professional whose contributions to journalism in the FCT and beyond remain invaluable.

The NUJ FCT affirmed its solidarity with the bereaved family and offered prayers for comfort, healing, and divine strength during this moment of deep sorrow.
