The Ofachi Area Development Movement of Oganenigu has expressed deep appreciation to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for initiating the construction of the Iyale–Odolu–Aloko–Oganenigu road in Oganenigu Ward, Dekina Local Government Area.

In a statement jointly signed by the President of the Ofachi Area Development Movement, Pastor Samuel Ugbedeojo Shaibu, the Egena of Oganenigu, His Highness Imaji Omojayi, and the Gago of Ugbabo, Chief Oboh Jona Idakwoji (on behalf of other Gagos), the community lauded Governor Ododo’s commitment to improving the socio-economic wellbeing and connectivity of rural communities in Kogi State.

The statement also commended an All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in the area, Dr. Abdulrahman Ocholi Ameloko, for his immense contribution toward securing the approval of the project by the state government.

“The road, upon completion, will greatly enhance transportation, facilitate trade, improve access to social amenities, and significantly boost the overall development of our area,” the statement read.

Commending Governor Ododo’s visionary leadership, the community noted his unwavering dedication to transforming Kogi State through impactful and people-centered projects. “We commend your visionary leadership and dedication to transforming Kogi State through projects that directly touch the lives of citizens,” the statement added.

The people of Ofachi and neighbouring communities expressed optimism that the road will bring about positive change, including improved economic activities, better access to healthcare and education, and an enhanced quality of life.

“We appreciate Your Excellency’s responsiveness to the needs of our communities and your tireless efforts in driving development across Kogi State,” the group further stated.

The Ofachi Area Development Movement assured the governor of their steadfast support and continued prayers for his success in office.

It would be recalled that the journey toward the project’s approval began in 2022 when members of the Ofachi Area Development Movement visited then Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello and his Commissioner for Rural Development, Daniel Oneh Ejigbo. The Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) was approved at the time but deferred for implementation by the succeeding administration.

The statement also praised the current Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development, Hon. Engr. Abdulmutalib Muhammad, for his determination and commitment to seeing the project through, appreciating him in advance as work begins on the site.
