Relief in Kaura Namoda as all kidnapped students regain freedom.

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Zamfara State have successfully rescued the four remaining students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, who were abducted by bandits.

The operation, carried out late on Wednesday, was based on credible intelligence. The DSS confirmed that no ransom was paid to secure the students’ release.
During the rescue mission, one of the suspected kidnappers was arrested, while the remaining members of the gang were neutralised.
The students—comprising four males and one female—were kidnapped on June 3 from their off-campus hostel in the Low-cost area of Kaura Namoda after armed bandits invaded the residence. Although six students were initially taken, two had regained their freedom earlier.
Following the earlier release, security agencies intensified surveillance and tracking efforts, which eventually led to the safe rescue of the remaining four students.
The successful operation comes just days after DSS operatives in Zamfara rescued a professor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, in a separate operation.
The rescued students have since been reunited with their families, bringing an end to their captivity and providing relief to the Kaura Namoda community.
