The Renewed Hope Grassroot Movement (RHGM) has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assenting to the landmark Electricity Bill, describing it as a historic step toward transforming Nigeria’s power sector.
This commendation was contained in a statement issued in Abuja and signed by the National Coordinator of RHGM, Ambassador Isaac Chigozie Udeh.

According to the statement, the newly enacted law removes electricity from the Exclusive Legislative List, thereby empowering state governments to independently generate, transmit, and distribute electricity within their jurisdictions.
It noted that the reform allows states to establish their own electricity markets and regulatory frameworks, as well as license private investors without requiring federal approval.
RHGM stated that the bold initiative is expected to accelerate industrialization, attract both local and foreign investments, create employment opportunities, and significantly improve electricity supply across the country.
The movement also lauded President Tinubu for his ongoing efforts to address security challenges and implement economic reforms aimed at stabilizing and growing the Nigerian economy.
The statement reaffirmed RHGM’s commitment to educating and mobilizing Nigerians at the grassroots level on the achievements and people-focused policies of the current administration.
It further urged state governments, private sector investors, and other stakeholders to take full advantage of the historic opportunity presented by the new electricity law to invest in Nigeria’s power sector.
