SENATE PLEDGES SUPPORT TO ENHANCE FRSC’S OPERATIONS

The Senate has pledged to provide all necessary support to enhance the operations of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC.

Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator Diket Plang, who made the pledge while inaugurating several facilities at the FRSC headquarters in Abuja, stated that the support would help make roads safer and boost socio-economic activities across the country.

The Senator commended the new initiatives introduced by the FRSC leadership, which he said have improved the ease of doing business and promoted a more effective traffic management system, and also called for special incentives to motivate FRSC personnel.

He emphasized that heads of government agencies should create a conducive working environment and remain accessible to ensure effective implementation of policies.

The Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, commended President Bola Tinubu for his continued support for the Corps’ mandate, pledging that the Corps would continue to engage stakeholders in the transport sector to achieve effective traffic management nationwide.

Mallam Shehu Mohammed also assured improved welfare packages and logistics to enhance service delivery.

Highlights of the event included the commissioning of the ICT Hall, Data Collection Center, Reception, among others.
