Through Music, Ajogu Inspires Faith, Healing, and Cultural Rebirth with REVIVE Movement
From Dooshima Terkura, Makurdi
A Nigerian recording artiste, Ajogu Zekeri, is gaining momentum with his REVIVE Movement, a fast-growing grassroots concert initiative aimed at inspiring spiritual awakening, creative expression, and cultural transformation among young people through music.
Speaking with our correspondent in Makurdi, Ajogu explained that since its launch in 2022, the REVIVE Movement has developed into a vibrant touring platform, reaching audiences across several Nigerian cities such as Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kano, Kaduna, Minna, Lokoja, and Akure.
He stated that through a series of independently organized and self-funded concerts, he has established a distinctive model of live music engagement that brings revival-centered artistic experiences directly to local communities.
According to him, the movement strengthened its grassroots impact in 2023 by hosting concerts in eight different communities within Abuja, while subsequent tours in 2024 expanded its reach to more cities.
In 2025, Ajogu introduced a new approach by organizing five back-to-back REVIVE concerts across communities in Abuja, working with supporting artistes to create a continuous, city-wide revival experience.
Ajogu’s commitment to using live music for community impact dates back to 2016 when he founded The Headlights Music Festival in Lagos.
Apart from live performances, his creative portfolio also includes recorded music that reflects similar themes of faith, healing, and personal transformation. His latest album, “The Therapeutic Tape,” released in March 2023, delves into deeply reflective themes focused on emotional healing, spirituality, and self-discovery.
The album continues to attract renewed attention as Ajogu actively reintroduces it while working on new music projects.
The REVIVE Movement is anchored on a clear vision—to create environments where music serves as a catalyst for young people to encounter Jesus Christ anew.
By uniting artists, audiences, and communities, the initiative aims to inspire a generation to rediscover faith, purpose, and identity through creative expression.
Ajogu stated, “The vision of REVIVE is to see revival, reformation, and faith awakened in the hearts of young people. Through music and art, we believe people can encounter Jesus Christ in a real and transformative way, and from that encounter, a cultural shift can begin.”
With its growing presence across Nigeria and plans for expansion, Ajogu noted that the REVIVE Movement is being positioned as a platform capable of extending beyond national boundaries, connecting artists and audiences globally through music, faith, and shared cultural experiences.
