UNICAL VC Commends Senator Owan Enoh for Dedication to Nation-Building

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Prof. Florence Banku Obi, has lauded the Minister of State for Industry and distinguished alumnus, Senator John Owan Enoh, for his unwavering commitment to nation-building.

Prof. Obi, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Tony Eyang, gave the commendation at the University Council Chambers during a courtesy visit by Senator Enoh. She expressed pride in the Minister’s outstanding public service record, noting that he has distinguished himself consistently over 22 years of service.

The Vice Chancellor emphasized that UNICAL is proud to have Senator Enoh as one of its illustrious alumni and to celebrate him as a worthy ambassador of the institution.

Highlighting the University’s preparations to host the NUGA 2026 Games, she appealed for the Minister’s support. Prof. Obi also expressed gratitude for Senator Enoh’s commitment to the UNICAL@50 Celebration, stressing that the anniversary theme reflects the institution’s enduring legacy.

In his response, Senator Enoh described the visit as a “homecoming,” expressing delight at the warm reception accorded him. He pledged continuous support for the University and its initiatives.
