Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has reaffirmed his steadfast belief that unity among the people of Plateau remains the foundation for the State’s sustainable development, peace, and participation in national progress.

The Governor made this known during a reception held in Abuja in honour of the newly sworn-in Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro.

In a statement issued by Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs, Governor Mutfwang expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing sons and daughters of Plateau into key national positions, describing the gesture as a mark of confidence and a rare opportunity for the State to demonstrate excellence.

“This evening is a celebration of what God can do,” the Governor stated. “When He opens a door, no man can shut it. But beyond celebration, this appointment reminds us that when national opportunities are shared, they are done on the basis of states, not parties. We must therefore speak with one voice, support our representatives, and project Plateau as one indivisible people.”

Governor Mutfwang commended Dr. Doro’s professionalism, humility, and diaspora experience, assuring him of the State’s prayers and institutional support to excel in his new national role.

“We have no shortage of talent on the Plateau. What we need is unity. If we rally around our own, more doors will open for our people. I am confident that Dr. Doro will make Nigeria proud and, more importantly, make Plateau proud,” he added.

“The event is a clear indication of inclusive leadership driven by an unbreakable bond of unity for progress — unity for Plateau. I further reaffirm Dr. Doro’s capacity to deliver on his national assignment,” the Governor emphasized.

In his remarks, Dr. Bernard Doro described his appointment as a divine trust and a call to selfless service, pledging to pursue tangible interventions that will uplift the poor and vulnerable across Nigeria.

“This task is bigger than me. It requires a united front. I’m calling on all of us to join hands to fight poverty, heal broken communities, and give hope to the downtrodden. My guiding principle is simple — to serve humanity with humility and diligence,” the minister declared.

Also speaking, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel, emphasized the need for reconciliation and collective responsibility among Plateau leaders, stressing that only a united Plateau can attract greater development and federal attention.

“This appointment is an opportunity to rebuild trust and prove that Plateau’s strength lies in its unity,” he said.
