FG canvases joint effort to rehabilitate and educate women in custodian centres.

The federal government has advocated a collaborative efforts in the rehabilitation and education of women in custodial centres across the country .

The Minister of state for education Dr Suwaiba Ahmed who stated this at an event to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Prison Rehabilitation and Welfare Action in Abuja said the transformative power of education in empowering women is highly essential in any society

Addressing stakeholders , the minister highlighted the critical role of both formal and informal education in fostering hope and self-reliance among women.

The Executive Director of an NGO parwa Dr Uju Agomah said she was motivation to establish the association after recognizing the need for research, advocacy, and capacity-building for people in detention centres.

highlight of the event was an exhibition showcasing products made by inmates, ex-inmates, and youths at the cordial centre .

Some Stakeholders at the event called for continued advocacy, resources, and partnerships to empower women in detention.
