Oh You Doubting Priest!

Much into it, the vocation of priesthood, one he enfolds himself with, with little or no vices, no risky behaviour , no excessive display of emotions, within the boundaries of decency he operates, daily seeking to know Him that called him so deeply.

He desires to be like him that called him into the Priesthood , causing revival, healing, bringing forth signs and wonders at every turn. His sermons soul lifting. With an oratory skills never known before , he delivers his sermons.

Each time he mounts the pulpit to preach, in awe his congregation gaze in breathless manner until he says his final word. They always look forward to his sermons, but to him , his mind is filled with doubts. He wanted to see people in their numbers fall and roll on the floor , scream and manifest in great anointing.

As hard as he tried , nothing was seen, no falling , no manifestation heaved in sight. He became grumpy, dissatisfied, wearied and disappointed, comparing himself with other priests though with less preaching skills but with power , miracles, signs and wonders with large crowd characterizing their ministries.

So much he desired these gifts but far flung they are from his reach. Each day he rolls on his bed, imagining those miracle working priests, torturing his mind with vain imagination of their bourgeorning bank accounts and their lavished life style.

He wanted to be seen and addressed as that powerful man of God who would say a thing and it comes to be. That powerful man of God with profound healing power, raising the dead and casting out demons with ease. He became disillusioned , doubted his priesthood and the call of God upon him. He questioned why he would turn bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus, with no visible power flowing from him.

Oh! Doubting Priest ! You the most wretched and disillusioned in spiritual matters. Oh you doubting Priest! You got so engrossed in little things and forgot the boundless gifts of God you have. Oh you doubting priest! You got carried away by the desires and craves to be famous and rich through ministry but forgot the boundless gift of the Word. You got petty , pursuing the reminant, the negligible, forgetting the boundless gift of the Word deposit in you.

Oh doubting Priest! You cut a pitiable image of a hunter with an Elephant on his head still struggling to pick a small Grasshopper with his leg. Doubt no more! Your Priesthood is most authentic, blessed with the most needed, the highly cherished, that one instrument that would cause revival., healing , raise the dead and bring forth all manner of miracles– The Word Of God!!

Doubt no more! You have the real deal, the ace in the hole. Stick to it, develop yourself in it, for the Word you preach daily so powerfully is healing , deliverance, signs and wonders in itself.

Oh doubting Priest! Doubt no more . You are lavishly gifted with that Word that was before the world was made.

Forget the miracles, the signs and wonders. Forget the falling, the screaming etc.They are good but can’t be compared with the raw word of God. Oh you doubting Priest! The soul you lift daily with the word of God are uncountable. They may not fall and roll but their souls are singed with arrows that cause daily revival in their lives.

You may not have thousands following you, but the impact you make on their live daily through your undiluted sermon very profound.

Doubt no more. Your mission is clear. Stick to it, keep breaking the word and keep touching lives with it, all that glitters is no gold. There is no signs, wonders and miracle more than a soul that bears fruits daily through the word of God heard , kept and lives through them as dogma , doctrine and lifestyle. Anybody that makes this possible in people’ lives remains the greatest miracle worker, with signs and wonders their trademark. I think you are ! Oh you doubting Priest.

Seek you first the kingdom and every other thing will be added. By the entrance of the word light is shown and the radiation it brings makes the kingdom real in our lives. Achieve this, every other thing is jara!! A life that is driven by the Word undiluted thrives better than a life driven by signs, wonders and miracles.
