Osu Yelwa Calls For More Promotion Of Cultural Heritage In Nasarawa State
A Traditional Ruler and Osu Yelwa in Nasarawa State, His Royal Highness Musa Abu Shekwo, JP, has called for the promotion of cultural heritage in Nasarawa State.
He made the call in Yelwa, Nasarawa State during Yelwa Chiefdom Cultural Festival
The Royal Father who described culture as vital way of life said promoting the rich cultural heritage and values of people of Nasarawa State would further contribute to economic development of the State.
According to him, the Yelwa Chiefdom Cultural Festival is to further showcase the culture of people of the community to foster peace, unity and progress among the sons and daughters of Yelwa.
“Culture as we know is the way of life of people of any given community and it is important for this culture to be preserve for generation yet unborn and that is why the people of Yelwa Chiefdom have deemed it necessary to put together this cultural festival towards harnessing it for the benefits of the community” He stated.
The Osu Yelwa advised sons and daughters of the Chiefdom to always be proud of their culture towards sustaining peaceful coexistence and harmonious relationship among them.
He also stressed the need for parents to always promote moral and cultural values among their children for the betterment of the community.
In a goodwill message, the Mai Angwan, Keida Road II in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, Chief Mohammed Bitrus Baba congratulated the Osu Yelwa and the entire people of the Community for the Festival.
Chief Bitrus Baba advised the Yelwa Chiefdom to sustain the tempo of the Festival towards ensuring the progress of the Community.
Some Sons and Daughters of the Community who spoke at the Festival thanked God for giving them the grace to witness the event.
They called for implementable policies and programmes that would enhance the growth and development of culture in Nasarawa State.
