2026 FCT Area Council Election: Labour Party Candidate In Gwagwalada Commends Supporters For Their Commitment Towards Victory In The Forthcoming Election

The Candidate of Labour Party, LP, for the Gwagwalada Chairmanship Election in the 2026 FCT Area Council Poll, Hon. Suleiman Ibrahim Barde has commended his supporters for their determination and support towards ensuring his success in the election come February next year.

He gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen on Gwagwalada Abuja on his clearance by the National, State and Area Council Chapter of Labour Party on the recently conducted primary election of the Party for the 2026 FCT Area Council Poll.

Hon. Suleiman Ibrahim Barde who said all issues relating to the conduct of the Party’s Chairmanship primary election in Gwagwalada Abuja has been resolved in his favour solicited the support of both the electorates and members of Labour Party in the area solicited their support towards ensuring that LP emerge victorious in the election.

He therefore used the opportunity to promise to embark on various developmental projects most especially in rural areas if elected as Chairman of the Council in next year’s FCT Area Council Election.

The Chairmanship Candidate stated that his aspiration to contest for the office of the Chairman during next year’s Area Council’s poll is due to his determination to further contribute to the progress and growth of the area.

He explained that over the years, he has been contributing to the empowerment and welfare of people of his area most especially youths and women through his NGO and Entrepreneurship Initiative.

“Therefore, if given the opportunity to serve as Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council in the 2026 FCT Area Council Election, all I need is to consolidate on what I’ve done for my people by hitting the ground running in the provision of basic amenities such water supply, electricity, agriculture, roads infrastructure, education and health facilities, security of lives and property, environmental, market establishment among other projects and Programmes that would further improve the living standard of people of my area” He stressed

In his words “In education, we’ll partner with necessary agencies to ensure quality and affordable education system in Gwagwalada Area Council, while in the health sector, by God’s grace when I emerge as Chairman, I’m going to enroll my people in the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS for them to have low cost in healthcare delivery so also is agriculture where I’ll engage my people in dry season’s farming that’s irrigational farming because in Gwagwalada we have a very big market but we’re depending on other people to bring us vegetables and other farm produce”.

“On electricity, I’ll ensure the provision of hydro and solar electricity for people of the area through effective partnership and collaboration with relevant public and private organizations while in the area of environmental, I’ll take it very serious because the issue of environmental has over the years affected our roads, health and everything in our area and as a result of that we’re going to be having monthly environmental sanitation exercise towards ensuring a healthy and environmental friendly society and above all, I’m going to ensure effective security of lives and property of my people through partnership with the formal and informal security agencies in Gwagwalada ” Hon.
