FULafia Maintains Ban on All Forms of Sign-Out Celebrations — Management
By David Odama
The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has reiterated its ban on all forms of sign-out celebrations for graduating students.
According to the institution, the decision follows a recent tragic accident involving two tricycles on the university campus.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, and made available to journalists in Lafia, the management explained that sign-out celebrations — which typically involve final-year students signing on one another’s shirts and engaging in social activities after their final examinations — will no longer be permitted.
The statement stressed that such celebrations will not be allowed at the Permanent Site Campus Gate of the university. Instead, students are directed to hold any approved activities within their respective faculty premises.
It further prohibited the use of public address systems during the celebrations, as well as driving or running around in cars as part of the activities.
The management warned that any breach of these guidelines would attract disciplinary action, urging students to comply with the rules to avoid further accidents and to safeguard lives.
